Obviously there are some parts that need to be finished and re-coloured but just to give an idea of the finished look...
I thought i'd give The Mike a hand with the colour - finished colouring the eye movement and the hand stretching out the 'blob'. - Whilst The Dale and The Mike worked on the sound.

Probably not the best time of night to colour the hands, I literally fell asleep half way through, that shows pretty badly, so that's why the hands go really orange at one point. Energy drinks please!

Must say the colouring was the most time consuming, it was done on Art Rage, and we used an oil paint effect. Painting every frame one after the other got extremely tedious. But I'm happy with the style, it looks very different to the others.

Okie Dokie...

My first bit of animation so far, myself and The Dale are doing most of the actual animating. I wanted to put more expression into the eyes, to make the character more believable and to make him look as if he is cautious of something in the background.

I drew the original frames in photoshop, moving each layer slightly to emphasise the eyebrows. Then put the saved jpegs into toon boom to work the timing and spacing properly, then exported it as a quicktime mov.

I'm pleased with the variation of the expression on his face compared to that of the sting, even though they were the key frames, and I like the pause when the pupils are highest it seems as if he is focusing.

The Blob design...

Happy with the colour but methinks The Mike is going to change the texture; make an oil paint effect, probably will give it a more interesting look.

Liking the slime trail too!

Alrighty then....

Myself and The Mike decided to come up with a few ideas for the background, the best we came up with was this bathroom. I first did this rough sketch in photoshop to give The Mike an idea of the layout, colour etc.

When we finally decided to use the background - a bit of persuasion needed for The Dale especially! - Until he saw the idea we he wanted us to leave the background blank (red bull advert style). I neatened up the edges and took away the coloured layer ready for The Mike to put on the colour himself

I decided that the last half needed a change of pace, therefore iI thought the idea of including a stretch in between the mixing of 'the blob'. So the next thing in line is to work on that part. In the review it was said that the strech in the middle needs to wobble to show the elasticity of 'the Blob'.

just a wee update...

in the process of making the 'walk?' (if you can call it that) more effective
the outline for the head i made into a figure 8, the line which the top of the head will follow. hopefully this will give a more unstable wobble.
I have put in a ripple effect on the bottom to make it appear to be moving when the character stays in the middle of the screen. It gives it more attitude.
The eyes I am drawing so the eyebrows give more expression and the blinks are slightly off equal timing and spacing so it doesn't look too static and robotic.

So... hopefully the finished result should resemble something like this...
